A place to track your bonsai journey
Your consistency and dedication to record keeping is what really matters. Take the time to do it right and you will be rewarded long term. Just like in bonsai.

“The palest ink is better than the best memory.”
I fell in love with bonsai in my early teens, lost my way for a while, then found my way back. Years in web development meant I eventually built a proper tool to catalogue every tree and document their journey. The bonsai community is generous and passionate - so I opened it up. If you love bonsai too, this is your place.
What's inside
Collection
This is the heart of the site. Every tree you own, all in one place - with as much or as little detail as you want to capture. Each tree gets its own page: species, age, source, health, pot, and lifecycle stage. Star favourites, flip status flags straight from the list, and log garden-wide events without tying them to a single tree.

Care log
Ever have that feeling where you can't remember what you did last week? Log wiring, pruning, styling, defoliation, air layers and more. It all stacks up into a timeline - come back years later and you'll know exactly what happened and when.

Search and filter
Who has time to scroll? Find any tree in seconds. Search by name or number, filter by status, wiring, repot needs, favourites and more. It's one of those things that feels small until your collection gets big.

Gallery
We work in seasons and decades. Don't forget where you started - otherwise you won't see how far you've come. Upload photos, tag them as progress or supporting shots, and watch the story build. Watching a rough tree transform over years is genuinely one of the best parts of this hobby.

Planner
Sometimes you need to sit with a tree before you touch it. Load a photo and sketch ideas without picking up scissors. Imagine mode lets you draw new structure on top of the photo. Plan mode is for annotating the real thing - mark cuts, add arrows, drop notes. Everything saves back to the gallery.

Archive
Sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes the bar eats you. Trees sold, gifted or lost move to archive so your main collection stays clean. All history and photos stay intact. If you need to free up storage, delete a tree entirely - purged after 90 days.
Repot calculator
How many bags do I need this season? Running short is a pain. Mark trees for repot throughout the year, pick your mix and pot size, and it breaks down exactly how much you need, what it costs, and how long it'll take - using your own materials and prices.

Materials
Track soil components, mixes, pots, and wire. Start from a shared master list, set your local prices and bag sizes, and make it your own. Your mixes feed into the calculator and your pots link up when logging a repot.

Reports
What can I say - I love data nearly as much as I love bonsai. See your whole collection from a different angle. Care activity over time, repot overdue, wiring duration, for sale - the patterns you'd never notice tree by tree.

Your data is yours
I provide the tool, you provide the effort. Export your full collection, care history, repot records and more as CSV any time. No lock-in, no hoops. Your data is yours.

Public links
There may come a time you want to share your progress. Turn on a public link for any tree - no account needed to view it. Great for friends, club forums, or shows. Flip it off any time. Your trees, your call.
QR codes
Who would have thought QR codes would be so useful! Every tree gets a public and a private one. Print them as label cards with species, age, and other details. Stick one on the pot and scanning it beats squinting at handwriting any day.

Subscriptions
Getting started is free - up to 15 trees and 200 photos, no payment needed. Payment options are there if your collection grows or you simply want to support the site. For the price of a coffee a month ($5) that'll cover most people's needs - unless you're as far gone as I am. No limits at $12/month. Upgrade, downgrade or cancel any time. And if you don't have the means, reach out - I'm not in it for the money, I'll do my best to help.
